The Waverly Castle Hotel

The Waverly Castle Hotel is located just 1.4 miles from Melrose, near to Eildon Hills, halfway between the Northumberland National Park and Edinburgh – a perfect place to enjoy the transition from England to Scotland and take in the breathtaking Borders scenery and hospitality.

There’s plenty to explore in the area, from charming local towns and villages to historic houses, castles and abbeys plus whisky tours and distilleries, gardens, and outdoor activities such as climbing, walking, cycling, fishing, bird-watching and golf.

The picturesque town of Melrose is located next to the River Tweed at foot of the triple peaks of the Eildon Hills; a distinctive landmark of the Scottish Borders. The area around Melrose is thought to have been inhabited for thousands of years with the Romans arriving in AD79 or 80 and building a fort nearby named Trimontium; 'Place of the Three Hills’. The Three Hills Roman Heritage Centre houses the Trimontium Museum which is dedicated to Roman life in Scotland.
